I started my academic journey in the arts, reading Psychology at Stirling University alongside a stint studying abroad at the University of Sydney. Afterwards, I moved into Cognitive Neuroscience and graduated with distinction from Durham University in 2018. I subsequently began my PhD in Mathematics and Engineering at the Bristol Robotics Laboratory with a special focus on biologically-based Spiking Neural Network (SNN) systems as well as reworking tactile sensors to be better utilised with event-based cameras.

I have taken a pause near the end of my PhD to work at HWU in SIPlab. I work primarily on optimizing SNNs for computationally lightweight systems as well advancing our edge-learning capabilities. I have a strong interest in incorporating human neuroscience principles wherever possible in SNN frameworks. I am happy to be contacted about research ranging from computational neuroscience, to image processing, to robotics, and everything inbetween.
